QUOTE(9th Community Wide Experiment on the Critical Assessment of Techniques for Protein Structure Prediction) The first prediction targets will be released not earlier than May 3; the last prediction targets will be released not later than July 17; prediction season will end not later than July 31. CASP9(2010) Participants have not been named, however for CASP8 we crunched Rosetta@Home and Poem@Home. I suggest we keep 3 May through 31 July open for this challenge. Hopefully, we get more projects to choose from (a 3-way race would be fun!) This post has been edited by Rudy Toody: Jan 16 2010, 01:41 PM -------------------- ![]() |

Yupp, lets do this! I'll put it up for the poll in April.
-------------------- BOINC, BOINC, BOINC
is the sound the eyeballs make in the skull when you are waiting for stats all night ... and the gravity wave hits (s)et(i), colliding with neutrons while the climate's heat folds the proteins... in my skull, where Rosetta's Similar Martix of Proteins decay ... I just checked all but Docking@home for participation. Only Rosetta and Poem have plans to participate. Docking's server is down so I don't know if they will participate (I'm guessing not.)
So it looks like we could do a race between Rosetta and Poem. OOPS! I just checked my calendar and found the conflict with the Pentathlon. I think we could be fashionably late and join CASP9 on 20 May right after the Pentathlon finishes. This post has been edited by Rudy Toody: Apr 14 2010, 06:06 PM -------------------- ![]() |

From POEM@Home:
QUOTE Hi everybody, yes - we will take part in CASP9. But although the organizers said that first workunits will be released from may 3 onwards, don't expect too many targets just then. Experience of the last CASP showed, that computing power is needed especially during the final CASP stages in June -> July. Thanks for your support, Timo We should consider the CASP9 crunch for those months. Rosetta is in it, too! -------------------- ![]() |

I'll continue to crunch Rosetta but I'll be available for a short term race.

Hmmm ... it'll be hard to stay on Rosetta when Simap comes up.
